A smart thermostat not only saves energy, but it will alert you if there is a problem with your heating and cooling system. If the temperature suddenly becomes very hot or cold, you will know. This alert may be what saves you from a frozen pipe bursting or arriving to a hot house on the 4th of July. Smart thermostats are on the checklist to winterize your Lake Martin home.
Comfort on Arrival
Another great benefit of a smart thermostat is being able to adjust the temperature before you arrive. This is my favorite feature of smart thermostats. If you arrive in the middle of the afternoon during the summer, it can take a long time to reach your comfort temperature. Adjust the morning before and walk into a home that is your ideal temperature.
Also, vacations homes can get a little stuffy while vacant for long periods of time. The air hasn’t been able to move around much and dust, condensation, and allergens build up. Set the fan to run daily for specified periods to move the air around.

Have you ever gotten home and wondered if you remembered to adjust the temperature to your away setting.
